Revolution Champions League is a cycling championship that took place this year in the United Kingdom, Manchester. The first round of the Champions League series took place on 25 and 26 November.
The Revolution events continue to feature British and international riders. Twelve teams made up of five qualifiers and seven World Tour teams compete each year in the Revolution Champions League. Only one team will be the the champion.
The teams
The teams that competed in the Champions League this year were:
UK: Team Sky is a British based professional cycling team created in 2009 by Sky with the support of British Cycling. The members are E. Viviani, G. Thomas, L. Rowe, P. Kennaugh, V. Kiryienka, B. Swift, I. Stannard.
US: Cannondale is an American cycling team founded in 2003 by Jonathan Vaughters. Today the members are D. Van Baarle, P. Bevin, R. Mullen and S. Langeveld.
US: Trek Segafredo is a pro cycling team whose members are E. Alafaci, J. Bobridge, N. Bonifazio, M. Coledan, G. Nizzolo and E. Theuns.
Germany: Team Giant-Alpecin, a World Tour team. Its members are B. De Backer, N. Arndt, R. Sinkeldam, Z. Waeytens.
Italy: Lampre-Merida, an Italian World Tour team. The members are: D. Cimolai, O. Troia, R. Ferrari, S. Modolo.
Other teams from UK are JLT Condor and Team Wiggins. The Netherlands was represented by Team LottoNL-Jumbo. Other teams that took part in the competition were Orica-BikeExchange, France-Alé, Team PedalSure and Maloja Pushbikers.
Leaders of round one
JLT Condor (men) and Matrix Fitness (women) lead after day 1 of the Champions League. The winners of this round were Ed Clancy and Jon Mould for Team JLT Condor. Team PedalSure came second and Maloja Pushbikers third. Here are the highlights of round one. Enjoy.
